Privacy Policy
BEL FITNESS ("we", "us", "our") provides a fitness and social-accountability app. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and protect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the rights and choices you have. It applies to the BEL FITNESS iOS and Android apps and this website.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address, display name, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Account role/status and verification flags.
Profile information (you choose to provide)
- Date of birth / age, gender, city, home gym, fitness goal and level, preferred workout types, availability, and bio.
- Profile photos and additional gallery photos.
Approximate location
- With your permission, we use your device location to help you find nearby gym partners.
- We never share your exact coordinates. Other users see only an approximate distance label (e.g. "about 5 miles away"), and only if you enable "Show my distance".
Content you create
- Posts, stories, comments, reactions/likes, challenge submissions (including videos you record), and direct messages to other users.
Fitness & progress data
- Workouts, workout history, sets/reps/weight, personal records, streaks, goals, and body-weight / progress records.
- Private progress photos — these are visible only to you.
Nutrition & meal scanning
- Meals and nutrition entries you log.
- When you use the AI Meal Scanner, the meal photo is sent for analysis and then discarded — the photo is not stored. Only the resulting food/nutrition estimates you confirm are saved to your log.
AI Coach
- To generate coaching insights, your recent training activity (e.g. workouts, streaks, goals) is processed by our AI provider. Outputs are informational and cached to your account.
Notifications & device data
- Device push token (to deliver notifications you've enabled), platform type, and basic app diagnostics/logs used to keep the service reliable and secure.
2. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account and profile.
- To provide core features: workouts, exercise demos, AI Coach, meal logging/scanning, community, messaging, challenges, and partner discovery.
- To show approximate distance for partner matching (never exact location).
- To send notifications you have enabled.
- To keep BEL FITNESS safe: moderation, abuse prevention, and enforcing our Terms.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the service.
BEL FITNESS is free at launch. We do not run third-party ad networks and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. Service providers we use
We share limited data with trusted processors only to run the app:

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
4. Data storage & security
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
- Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
5. Data retention & deletion
- We keep your data while your account is active.
- You can permanently delete your account any time in Settings → Account → Delete Account, or request deletion via our Account Deletion page.
- Deletion permanently removes your account, profile, photos and media, posts, stories, comments, likes, messages, followers/following, workouts and history, personal records, goals, weight/progress records, progress photos, nutrition and meal-scan records, AI Coach data, challenge entries, achievements/streaks, notifications, and device push tokens.
- Limited safety records (e.g. abuse reports) may be retained in anonymized form for legitimate safety and legal purposes.
6. Your rights & choices
- Access and update your profile in the app.
- Control location, distance visibility, age visibility, and notification categories in Settings.
- Delete your account and data at any time.
- Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your data — contact us to exercise them.
7. Health & fitness data
Fitness, workout, body-weight, and nutrition information you enter is used to power app features. BEL FITNESS provides general fitness and wellness information and is not a medical service. We do not connect to Apple Health or other health platforms.
8. Children
BEL FITNESS is intended for users 13 years and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
